Arts Leadership Program Certificate Requirements
Students accepted into the ALP certificate program, will have two choices in the manner in which they may complete the ALP certificate requirements. They may choose to complete the basic ALP requirements or to specialize in a particular cluster.
Choice 1: ALP BASIC Certificate Requirements
Minimum of 6 credits required as follows:

Choice 2: ALP CLUSTER Certificate Requirements
Minimum of 6 credits required as follows:
Students may choose to specialize in an officially recognized set of courses known as a cluster. In each cluster, there is a required Keystone course. If there is no Keystone course identified, the student must take a Keystone course from another cluster. See ALP Course clusters for additional information.

*ALP Internship Requirements
Local internships during the school year require a commitment
for Fall & Spring, 1 credit per semester. In special cases,
a summer internship may be allowed (1 credit) and must be approved
by the Director, Institute for Music Leadership. Such internship
must be for a minimum of 120 hours. No more than 2 internship
credits can be used towards the 6 credit certificate requirement.
Graduate students have the option of taking the internship tuition
free (does not count toward your elective degree requirement)
or paying for the internship (may count towards your elective
degree requirement if your academic advisor has approved). With
either option the course will count towards your ALP certificate
requirement.
Additional information
Students enrolled in both the ALP and College and/or Community Teaching (CCT) certificate programs cannot count credits for the CCT required course, "MUE 504: Preparing Future Music Faculty," towards their ALP certificate. The ALP internship and the CCT internship must also be separate experiences.
ALP Certificate candidates are encouraged to take as many ALP
courses as their schedule and time will permit.
