Arts Leadership Program
Course Clusters
The Arts Leadership Program provides 10-12 courses per semester divided between 5 clusters. A cluster includes a core course known as a Keystone course. It provides a broad overview of the subject matter in that cluster. Some courses are cross-listed in more than one cluster.
Here are brief descriptions of the five clusters:
- Entrepreneurship & Careers
Provides students with information to help them broaden their professsional vision and to formulate and prepare intelligently for career goals. [Visit Entrepreneurship in Music for more information on the Eastman School of Music's activities in entrepreneurship.]
- Leadership & Administration
Equips students with information, ideas and attitudes that will provide leadership and influence in the musical culture and marketplace.
- Performance
Gives musicians experience presenting the music they love to diverse groups.
- Contemporary Orchestral Issues
Deals with challenges facing orchestral music today and offers ways that musicians can become more pro-active in shaping their musicial future.
- The Healthy Musician
Offers techniques that help musicians avoid overuse and injury.
