Adding ESM email to Windows Mobile

Eastman faculty/staff email (@esm.rochester.edu) can easily be added to a Windows Mobile device.

Configure the Windows Mobile Device

  1. On the main screen of your Windows Mobile device, click on Start then go to Programs.



  2. Open up ActiveSync.



  3. Click on “setup your device to sync with it.”



  4. Type in the “Server Address” field, webmail.ur.rochester.edu, make sure that the box for This server requires an encrypted (SSL) connection is checked, then click Next.



  5. Enter in your username in the User name field, your Password in the password field, UR in the Domain field, and that Save Password is checked.



  6. WARNING: By default, everything is checked. If this device serves as your phone too, please make sure that Contacts is NOT checked. If it is checked, your Eastman Contacts will overwrite your Phonebook.

    Once the appropriate boxes are checked, click on Finish.



  7. Now press the Sync button on the bottom-left of the screen.
