Make a Distribution List

If you frequently send email to a certain group of recipients, you may want to create a Distribution List in Outlook. Instead of having to enter the addresses of each recipient individually, you can simply address an email to the Distribution List and it will be sent to all of the members that you have added to the List.

  1. In the File menu, click New, then Distribution List.

  2. Enter a Name for the list. This name is what you will use to address an email to the list.

  3. If the recipients that you will be adding to the list are Eastman Faculty or Staff: Click Select Members..., highlight a name and click Add until all the names are added, then click OK.
  4. If the recipients of the list are students or others not in the Eastman community: Click Add New..., type in the display name (usually the person’s name) and an email address, then click OK.

    Note: You will need to repeat this process for each name until all the names are added.
  5. Type in any notes you wish to have associated with this list in the Notes tab.
  6. Click Save and Close.
  7. After the distribution list has been created you can send an email to it by using the name of the list in the To: field when composing an email.
